Why all the different MLS products?
Because all users are not the same! Not all have high speed access…some don’t want prospecting or other advanced features…many just want to log-on, do a quick search, print or email something out and then quit. We started our company dealing with small boards in more rural areas and later expanded to larger boards in mid-sized cities. We have learned that most agents want two things: simplicity in everyday use and speed. We also learned that boards have a slightly different perspective: minimal training requirements, high reliability and advanced features, oh yeah, it has to be fast too. We believe the customer is always right, so we developed products that suit the needs of each specific user while saving the board money. Our MLS products fall into three main categories: desktop, web and wireless. Let’s look at the rationale behind each of our products. Oh, by the way, every product has exactly the same visual interface…so learn one, know them all.
The web based products. We have two: EZlist~MLS WebFull and EZlist~MLS WebLite.
EZlist~MLS WebFull, the standard web product contains all of the features offered by all major MLS providers...plus some they don’t. And we feel we just do it a bit better, and for less money, that’s all. We use the standard Windows interface, the one users are already comfortable with (it reduces training time).
EZlist~MLS WebLite is for those users who do not want all of the fancy, sophisticated tools offered in the full blown product. These are the ones that want to get on and get off…fast; or don’t want to pay the cost of high speed access to their home or small office; or simply can’t even get high speed access. This product was specifically designed for those users who want a web based product, but use a dial-up telephone system. It’s also super fast to use when one is on vacation, at the airport, or maybe at a client’s house. Simply type into the address bar in Internet Explorer the URL (web address) of your board, login and you are good to go. Plus, it offers the added benefit of not having all of the frills that power users demand in MLS software, but many users simply don’t use or want. Boards: good news! There is no learning curve, new members can just log on and go! It also provides a lower cost to the board. It’s just a win-win for everyone!
EZlist~MLS Wireless The day will come when the whole world is connected wirelessly via satellite. And perhaps sooner than we all think! Today we are strapped with small screens on PDA’s and cell phones, but that too will pass. But again, we saw the need to bring out a product that served a very specific purpose. Has this ever happened to you: you are taking clients to sell them a property? (You don’t take clients to “show” them property, do you?) You pass by a house with a for sale sign in the front yard. Of course they want the information about that house…forget about the fact that it matches none of the criteria they specified during your interview process. What do you do? Well now, just log on to our servers using your cell phone, type in the street number or a portion of the street name and up comes the information you need in a couple of seconds. Pretty swift, huh? Your clients are impressed…and the monthly cost to you…zero, nada, it’s just a standard feature to you regardless of the EZlist~MLS program you use.
